Mike Hodges Invitational

Good races for Lindsay Scherf and Zoe Buckman and the top 6 men today. Both teams dominated the competition. The conditions were perfect but the times weren't that good. 17:05 for Scherf was slower than the second place performance of Dana Buchanon last year (17:03) and the meet record performance of Olympian Amy Begley (15:50). Zoe Buckman did run 17:15, faster than her 17:35 of last year but no one else was faster. Andrew Wheating out-kicked (19:40) Matt Centrowitz (19:40) and Chris Winter (19:42) but ran slower than the 19:27 he ran behind Jordan McNamara's 19:16 last year. It was fun to see the green and gold in the Portland area. The Pac-10 meet is in less than two weeks and hopefully the team will be ready to perform at the high level that they had last year. |
